Lazarus Benson Drops Genre-Defying Single “Mindreader”

Independent recording artist Lazarus Benson has released his latest single, Mindreader, on Spotify, bringing his fearless fusion of hip-hop, metalcore, and raw emotion to a wider audience. The track, which explores the unspoken tension of being misunderstood in a relationship, is already drawing attention in underground music circles for its dark, cinematic sound.

Benson, who was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, is known for creating intensely personal music rooted in his own struggles and experiences.

After his father’s incarceration, he was raised by a single mother and turned to music as an outlet for pain and self-expression. Over time, he has carved out a sound that defies easy labels, blending hip-hop beats, metal riffs, haunting synths, and guttural screams.

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Alex Asch and Dirk Dugan, Mindreader delivers a sonic punch that mirrors the chaos of emotional miscommunication. “Lazarus is building something the industry hasn’t seen yet,” says Asch, a multi-platinum producer with eight gold records and over 140 million streams to his name. “He’s not borrowing from genres—he’s creating a new one.”

The track’s aggressive percussion and cinematic layers highlight Benson’s refusal to stick to industry norms. Despite being unsigned by a major label and operating without major playlist support, Mindreader earned nearly 100 pre-saves before its official release, reflecting the artist’s growing fan base and the power of his raw, unfiltered approach.

Benson’s 2025 release schedule shows no signs of slowing down. Upcoming tracks include Rain, Burn Down, Gospel, Sacrifice (featuring Whitney Peyton & T-Zank), and Merry-Go-Round (featuring Kung Fu Vampire). Each single expands his bold, hybrid sound and cements his reputation as a rising voice redefining modern alternative music.

For now, Mindreader stands as another milestone in Benson’s evolution — a fearless testament to the silence between the lines and the chaos that often goes unspoken.
