Fifteen-year-old Oliver Scott, a Florida native, etched his name in the record books as the first American-born player of Polish descent to score for Poland’s National Soccer Team in its more than 100-year history. The unforgettable goal came in a high-stakes match against Germany—one of Europe’s fiercest rivals and soccer powerhouses.
Currently playing for MLS NEXT U16 West Florida Flames and now proudly wearing the Polish U16 National Team jersey, Oliver’s milestone is the culmination of years of dedication, sacrifice, and a commitment to his heritage. As the son of Polish immigrants, his achievement resonates deeply with Polish-American communities who have long dreamed of seeing one of their own shine on the international stage.
“Gramy dla Polski”—We Play for Poland—has always been my motivation, said Oliver. “Scoring against Germany, representing my roots, and making history is something I’ll carry forever.”
Oliver’s path wasn’t easy. After facing disappointment during an earlier trial, he doubled down on his training—logging over 25 hours a week to elevate his skills, mindset, and physical strength. His relentless work ethic paid off, earning him a well-deserved spot on Poland’s U16 squad and the chance to prove himself on a grand stage.
His father, William Scott, shared, “This isn’t just about soccer. It’s about identity, resilience, and bridging two cultures that mean everything to us. Hearing Oliver say ‘Gramy dla Polski’ fills me with pride.”
